Our History
Helpers4Life was started in 2020 out of necessity because Terry Brooks wanted to help his daughter. He realized his daughter was going to need help finding a job in their neighborhood and then figuring out what she wanted to pursue in the future for a career. During this time he worked tirelessly with his daughter and he saw her grow and build confidence because she wasn't still trying to "figure It out". Terry realized there was a real need so now he's putting all his effort into bringing Helpers4life to the public and helping the next generation find what they love to do for life. Are You Ready?

Our Leadership
Terry Brooks is the Founder and Executive Director for Helpers4life, Headquartered in Boston, MA. Prior to working with Helpers for Life, Terry worked at Roxbury Youthworks as a career navigator helping court involved youth ages 14-22 with career readiness, volunteering, internships, and market employment. Terry worked at Hebrew Rehab as a Life Enhancement and also taught motivational Interviewin
Alexis Umeh
Treasurer
Alexis Umeh is the Treasurer for H4L and dedicated to mental health. She works as a Clinical Supervisor for young men in foster care and has spent her career supporting mental health in the African American community. Alexis holds a Master’s in Community Mental Health from Boston University and a double major in Psychology and African American Studies from UMass Amherst. A Bost
Laurent Plaisimond
secretary
is an educator working at Mr. L’s Tutoring and Enrichment LLC lead tutor and BCBA. Working in school systems in Brookline, Cambridge, and Dorchester. A certified BCBA with experience working with neurodiverse populations from 4-18 years old. Laurent has also taught tennis, volleyball, and tutors K-8 students in math, science and study skills.
